I am a Senior Research Fellow (Ramon y Cajal) at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT), Spain. Before joining UPCT I was a senior lecturer at the University of Lincoln, UK. Previously, I was a JSPS researcher at Kyushu University, Japan. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Freiburg, Germany. I am originally from Spain.

I am member of the research group Electronic Design and Signal Processing at UPCT. I am also a collaborative researcher at Kurazume and Iwashita Lab, Kyushu University, Japan.

I like to apply computer science solutions (mainly machine learning and AI) to solve problems in different areas such as service robotics, bioengineering, ambient assisted living, and quality of life technologies in general, with the main aim of improving people's daily life.
