Presentation:
Corporate Chairs can be understood as instruments to formalize durable broad scope collaboration agreements between the University and companies or institutions, in one or more areas of knowledge, making them publicly known.

They are the most appropriate vehicle for long term collaborations and pursue the following objectives:

• Learning.
• Research
• Technology and knowledge transfer.

They are therefore the most strategic way to collaborate with the University in order to take relationships beyond the economic environment. The Aquiline - Polytechnic University of Cartagena Chair was born on the conviction of the Higher Technical School of Telecommunication Engineering (ETSIT) and that of the Aquiline Group about the necessity to bring the business world closer to the University. Thus, the following general objectives have to be followed:

• To prioritize areas that are interesting for companies and for the University.
• To make innovation and development activities available to companies and promote research projects and technological transfer, fomenting projects that are profitable for the University and the companies.
• To promote multidisciplinary and integrative research groups.
• To organize seminars, conferences, specific courses, round tables, etc.
• To promote internships, final studies projects, doctoral theses, etc.
• To propitiate and to negotiate collaboration agreements with other companies and institutions.

The Aquiline-Polytechnic University of Cartagena Chair aims at starting up activities related with Information and Telecommunication Technologies and their application to improve management administration systems as a means to reduce expenses.

These activities will consist of:

• Educational programs aimed at students and graduates.
• Setting up Research Laboratories.
• Publishing specialized studies.
• Organizing scholarship and internship programs in companies and institutions.
• Promoting research and innovation projects and prizes.
• Participating in national and international R&D&I programs.
• Promoting and managing agreements with other companies and institutions.
